Interactive installations are now part of our contemporary artistic environment. They invite the audience to participate to a creation, to modify it, to give life to it. Specially developped for music and video applications, Eobody interfaces are perfectly adapted to interactive installations. They will be automatically integrated in applications like Max/MSP/Jitter, Isadora or PD... to create real-time interations between sound, videos, lights, motors control and body movements... Eobody interfaces are pre-programmed. They require no programmation and no soldering, no skills in electronics. They enable anyone to create his own interactive installations.
Interactions types
- trigger a sound or a video when someone passes by
Sounds and video can be triggered by different types of sensors:
with contact (sensitive carpets, pressure sensors under a wall cover...)
or without contact (IR distance sensors, électromagnetic sensors, detection sensors…).
Example
KosmiX, interactive sound installation, D. de Graan, M. Hogerheide and E. Paulus
Touchez la musique, sound installation, La Fnac, J. Tanant
- automation between lights, sounds, video, motors…
With Eobody2 OEM boards analogue and digital I/O or with Eobody3 analogue, digital, USB, OSC/Ethernet... different I/O types, it's possible to easily create interactions between different media with only one platform. Eobody3 allows long distance cables.
Examples
Body Print
Gate Game, Ph. Knafo, an interactive gate
Bugra Karabey: The Cry Of Nature, interaction between bioelectric potential changes (light, heat, humidity or even the presence of a human being)...
- create interactive objects (reacts to sound, presence, touch, movement…)
With sensors, any object can be transformed into an interactive object, which can react to sound, presence, touch, movement. Eobody2 OEM board can be easily integrated into objects to create interactive objects.
Most frequently used interface
Eobody3 USB or Ethernet, Eobody2 OEM boards, wireless Eobody2HF
Examples
Ambiant Book, an interactive book
Interactive racket
Interactive wire of a dancer, Leon Milo
Interactive objects installation, Plastaga
